Trending Now: Emails Tout Loyalty Offers, Free Shipping and Deadline Extensions
Tim Glomb: Welcome back to Thinking Caps special edition, trending now. I'm Tim Glomb host. And what is trending now? Well, the strategic services team at Cheetah Digital scours the web for the best email, SMS, in- app offers, wallet and other marketing campaigns across personalization at scale. So I want to give a huge shout out to Dorian for producing these images for me this week, let's look at some of the best holiday emails that went out this week and get you inspired for what you could do maybe next year or your next big release or next holiday. Number one, we're going to Dunkin' Donuts. They closed out to 2021 with a personalized email here and used their name inside the actual email copy, which is nice. They also included a singular video that wrapped out some of the big events on social for the year. So nice little closeout to 2021 email. Second American Airlines partners with Shell and they based say, Hey, if you combine your shell rewards with American airlines, we'll give you a hundred advantage bonus miles on American Airlines. So a great way to fill up and get some extra points. Great partnership right there. Brand partnerships make a lot of sense. Both of these Cheetah Digital clients. All right, next. Looking at McKenzie- Childs. The ho, ho holiday extension. Basically, they're telling you have one more day to meet the delivery deadline, but they're also giving you double points. So they're promoting their truly MC loyalty program and giving you double points on purchases between the 16th and 19th of December. Nice little touch to promote loyalty. Our last standout campaign this week is Birchbox. And basically if you spent 100 in their shop, you'll receive the free Birchbox beauty essentials kit. And they suggest, Hey, maybe you keep it for yourself, maybe you gift it away. And lastly, nice little touch here, they pulled in a customer review from Sharon talking about their products, great third party validation, and creates that fear of missing out. Rounding out our trends for this week, free shipping day. A lot of brands jumped onto free shipping day. You can imagine what the subject line looked like, but here you go. Here's some really good creative, some great visuals here. Cyber said they're 50% off the entire site on free shipping day, happy national free shipping day, et cetera, et cetera. So definitely brands jumping on that trend. And then green Monday as well, 15% off on green Monday. B& H, one of my favorite retailers that tracks me all over the web. Michaels, Joanne, Vera Bradley, et cetera, getting on that green Monday with some discounts there. Lastly, got to order before midnight, you got to get into those shipping deadlines. So we saw a lot of shipping deadline notification, reminding people. And some great tools in here in the visuals. You've got countdown clocks, you've got incentives, free shipping on orders$ 25 and above, another countdown clock there, and last day for express shipping for Christmas. So another trend there.
